Desired Values

Culture is "implicit," it works unspoken and is not consciously or arbitrarily "decidable" by command. Although it cannot be changed ad hoc, it can be developed further. Since organizations are living and thus learning systems that can (and must) adapt to changes in the environment ("Survival of the Smartest"), we activate this system capability.

Culture directs behavior – the stronger the cultural expression in one direction, the greater its power and the harder it is to change. Therefore, strong cultural expressions are difficult to alter, and the efforts to change must take the "nature" of the respective value to be changed more into account. Accordingly, values development projects focus on specific "fit" or "misfit" relationships between the evaluated expressions and the values parameters deemed important or necessary for the future (see Fig. 1).

These "misfits" can be prioritized, and targeted measures can be initiated for the organization and its employees. Thus, a "Cultural-Gap" analysis is the central starting point for a well-founded, needs-based company and employee development. The Accensa Organizational Culture Evaluation provides insights in multiple ways: cultural value expressions become "visible" and tangible. It also reveals patterns of effect and causes of recurring, organization-specific success or failure patterns. Additionally, we support organizations in developing values that are helpful for achieving individual goals and how to sustainably implement them.
